For this year’s Summer Camp the Scouts decided on a green field camp in Wales.  We camped in a farmers field overlooking Oxwich Bay – the scenery was stunning (when of course the fog had lifted!!).  We had 25 Scouts on Camp, 6 Leaders full time on site, and then 5 further leaders who each spent time on site, through the camp, to differing degrees.  Activities through the week included:

 

  o     The Outdoor and Outdoor plus challenges

 

  o     A visit to the Big Pit (incorporating Fish & Chips from ‘Big Dave’s’)

 

  o     A Day of fun on the beach

 

  o     Community work (clearing and burning bracken)

 

  o     Pony Trekking

 

  o     Climbing and Abseiling

 

  o     Camp fire entertainment

 The scouts came home tired and grubby (sorry Mum’s) but happy having spent a great week away from home.
