£1500 raised at Tongham Fete
"Are we doing it again next year?"
Tongham Scouts organised a village fete on 18th September, which raised a much needed
£1500 towards our new scout hut. There were stalls and displays, a dog show, a falconry exhibit
and rides galore. Everyone had a blast, and we've been asked if we will do it again next year.
The only downside is that we did not get the support from our parents that we had hoped for - we got
back very few raffle tickets, we did not see many Scout family faces on the day.
We are grateful to the parents that helped on the day, as well as the Scouts,Cubs and Beavers that
pitched in where they could to make it a special day.
Beaver Sleepover a Wild West sucess |

|
"When's the next Beaver camp?"
15 children, 3 leaders, 2 assistants and 3 young leaders braved the last frontier of Bentley Copse campsite in Shere for a Wild West Yeeharr sleepover in July.
There were horses to make, go karts to ride, assault courses to climb and dream catchers tobuild. Dinner was, naturally, beans (with side orders of chips and sausages). The beavers also made the world's biggest (ish) banana split - and ate it!
Almost everyBeaaver fell asleep on the way home....I can't think why! We are already planning our next sleepover!

Cubs Invade Bristol |

Shooting, Archery, Abseiling, Hiking...and lots of cake!
Cubs took their annual camp to Bristol, to the Woodhouse site overlooking the Severn bridge. We had a brilliant time and, in addition to organised activities,we managed to build dens, play footie, climb trees and eat cake. Lots and lots and lots of cake! Unfortunately, Akela was not very good at tea making and MUST TRY HARDER next year! :P
